WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE BOOK

SPEED

"Just like in Knight Rider the digital speedometer was quickly rising. It passed the 100kph barrier with ease and was soon at 130. At 150 the adrenaline was really starting to kick in and my white knuckles were gripping the steering wheel."

POWER

"It was powerful and had 4-wheel drive. There was no chance that this thing was going to get stuck in the mud. The gears were hand controlled from above, as was the throttle. The seat was comfy and springy. It could clock 50kph on the road. What more can I say about it? This was really the case of a boy with a very expensive new toy."

FUN

"I was driving crazily and seeing if I could go over 100kph in the field........I hit a bump and lost control. We swerved and turned. I felt the car turning over but miraculously the lie of the land and the roll bar somehow managed to keep us from flipping completely over. We climbed out the car and pushed it back on its wheels. It had a puncture and we got the spare and fixed it..... No one knew any better that we had almost totaled one of the Kibbutz's cars."

NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

"Its 4.3litre engine held almost two hundred thrashing steeds under the bonnet. Even though it had to carry nearly two tons by itself (before loading up with people and luggage) it still went like a proverbial "Bat out of Hell" if you floored the throttle."

UNBELIEVABLE

"I was bombing it at close to 140kph when I noticed a few hundred metres ahead that there were three full sized wild pigs crossing the road. Now these behemoths, for those who have never seen one in the flesh, can reach three hundred kilograms in weight and will happily write off a car in the event that you run into one at speed. The fact that they are pretty low on the ground at least meant that the chances of death during an impact with one was low as they would slam into the front grill and stay there".
